In this powerful episode of Nurses Out Loud, Nurse Michele sits down with Cheryl Holt, a former assistant administrator in a senior care facility in New York with over 30 years of experience. Cheryl shares a heartbreaking, firsthand account of what happened inside her long-term care facility during the COVID-19 vaccine rollout — and how it changed the course of her life forever.

Cheryl and her 24-year-old son Jason both worked at the facility during the height of the pandemic. Despite never seeing a single case of COVID among the elderly residents until after the vaccine campaign, Cheryl was forced to violate her conscience and take the shots to keep her job. Jason, who was on the autism spectrum and also employed at the same facility, was likewise required to get vaccinated.

What followed is a tragic timeline of parallel injuries.

Cheryl’s vaccine timeline:

• Dose 1: April 2, 2021

• Dose 2: April 23, 2021

• Booster: February 10, 2022

• Diagnosed with Epstein-Barr Virus: June 2023

• Experienced syncope and neurological dysfunction: July 2023

Cheryl’s health quickly deteriorated. Once vibrant and active in her role, she began experiencing chronic fatigue, immune dysfunction, and troubling neurological symptoms. She was eventually diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus reactivation, which has left her unable to work. Yet doctors dismissed her vaccine concerns repeatedly. Her symptoms were brushed aside as #ABTV  —  Anything But the Vaccine.

Jason’s vaccine timeline:

• Dose 1: June 12, 2021

• Dose 2: July 3, 2021

• Booster: February 10, 2022

• Pain and walking difficulty began in December 2022

• Surgery and cancer diagnosis: January 2023

• Metastasis to the brain: August 2024

• Passed away: October 2024

Jason’s symptoms mirrored his mother’s at first — struggling to walk down stairs, neurological problems, and rapid decline. Then came the incontinence. Finally, a spinal scan revealed stage four cancer. At just 25 years old, Jason died from what Cheryl now understands was turbo cancer — an aggressive and fast-moving malignancy increasingly reported after COVID vaccination, especially in young people.

Adding insult to injury, Cheryl’s former employer — a facility she loyally served for decades — has since gone out of business. When you force a medical product on employees that ends up altering or ending lives, everyone suffers!
