Evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein and podcaster Joe Rogan proved themselves to be voices of reason throughout the chaos of the Covid pandemic. On this episode of Nurses Out Loud, nurses David, Ashley, Nicole, and Michele discuss a portion of their conversation during the recent Joe Rogan Experience #2269.


The nurses do a deep dive into statins, including a hard look at the safety and efficacy of these widely prescribed drugs. They discuss cholesterol in general and how reductionist marketing campaigns are often only good for selling drugs but are harmful to health literacy. Is cholesterol the boogeyman that pharma companies and boxes of processed foods would have us believe, or is there more to the story?
